La International Opera Gala brought together nearly 600 people at the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja.

On Friday July 3rd, the auditorium of the Municipal Theater of Torrevieja welcomed  the first International Opera Gala, which was organized for the benefit of the Musical Union Torrevieja and the trip to be made to Kerkrade.

          During the concert we heard the choir THE VELVETONES, the quarter ALLEGRO, the choir THE HARMONISERS, the QUARTER Q4 and the choir JOSE HODAR.

The event was chaired by the councilman of Social Welfare Lola Canales and the president of the Musical Torrevieja Union (UMT), José Miguel Toro. In this concert the choirs sang successes of the 50s and 60s, ending with a memento to the great Maestro Ricardo Lafuente.

          Both the mayor Lola Canales and Jose Miguel Toro noted the significance of an International Opera Gala in Torrevieja, where choirs of different languages coexist in the same city and sing together.

All choirs and quartets are formed by active people, with dozens of musical and poetical recitals scheduled throughout the year in Torrevieja
